I wanted to show people, especially those of us who lack the experience in applying eyeshadow or just makeup in general, just how easy it is to create a smokey eye. I achieved this sultry, smokey eye using just two eyeshadows (ok, maybe three but the third was totally optional) from the same colour family; one mid-tone shade and one darker shade. I stuck with matte textures to keep the look edgy but that doesn’t mean you can’t use different textures and finishes. A good kohl liner is also essential for a speedy smokey eye because it has the potential to quickly amp up the drama and smokiness especially if you smudge it out with an eyeshadow. However, the key to achieve that ‘smokey’ effect is to ensure that you blend, blend, blend (as you will see in this video) and then…. blend some more!
