Mini Drugstore Haul | Priceline, Sydney

So having temporarily relocated to Sydney for the next few months, it was only a matter of time before I hit the Australian drugstores, and lucky for me, Priceline’s were running a 2 day, 40% off all makeup promo recently so I made sure that I made use of that. Now considering that it was almost a half price offer, I was very modest (and boy did I have to exercise some serious restraint) when it came to my haul. Mainly because I’m conscious about accruing a ridiculous amount of makeup (like I have in the past) that I won’t be able to bring back to the UK (trust me, the struggle to bring what I do have with me out to Oz was very real). I picked up five products, which could have very easily been ten, and managed to escape Priceline with my will intact. Just about.

Here’s what I bought on my mini Sydney drugstore haul:

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner

Now this isn’t the first time I have a purchased this but it’s been a while since I’ve used it. I was in basic need of a black kohl liner that I can use for my lash line as my Marc Jacobs Gel Highliner is reserved specifically for my waterline for it’s transfer proof capabilities (and because it’s damn expensive). I remember this being a pretty good liner so for familiarity’s sake, I picked it up again. If it ain’t broke…

CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Waterproof Mascara

This is my first dalliance with the brand Covergirl although I have a feeling that this is otherwise known as Max Factor in the UK. I wanted to give their mascaras ago, more specifically the Clump Crusher but unfortunately I don’t think it comes in a waterproof formula (and we all know how I feel about non waterproof formulations) so I picked up the waterproof formula that was available, and it happened to be the Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara. Straight away I noticed that the packaging was unusual as the wand comes separate from the tube (which was sealed with a cap) which also happened to be the biggest wand I’d ever seen.

Loreal False Lash Telecopic Waterproof Mascara

I know, I know. Not one mascara, but two! Seeing as my Kiss Me Herione Make Long and Curl Mascara is almost coming to a very sorry end, I thought this would be the perfect time to try out a couple of new mascaras. Well, new to me that is, because I believe the Telescopic has been on the market for donkey’s years, but no one told me that they did this in a waterproof formula! Say no more.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour

My nails are weak and prone to flaking and chipping so I love getting a gel manicure at the salon, and if I could afford it, I’d get it done all the time. I’d seen Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel formula around but never quite got round to picking it up. It promises a gel formula-like finish without having to plant your hands and feet under UV lights after each coat of polish so you can literally just paint and go. I picked up the colour TOTEM-LY YOURS, a warm, nude shade.

Australis AC on Tour Contour Kit in Light

This is the product I was most excited about. The AC on Tour Contour Kit is from Australian brand Australis, another new brand for me, and is a six pan, powdered contour palette. I am partial to a bit of subtle contouring, I mean, who doesn’t want chiselled cheekbones and a slimmer nose? I swatched the palette in-store and was incredibly surprised at just how smooth and blendable the formula was so I just had to pick it up. I can’t wait to put this to the test. Cheekbones here I come.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, I’d love to know how you got on with them.
