About Me

Neutral Everyday Tutorial with the Morphe Brushes 35O Nature Glow Eyeshadow Palette by Face Made Up

Hi, my name is Thu (pronounced “Tu” with a silent “h”) and I’m from London. I have an understated love for all things make-up and beauty, and I enjoy dabbling in a bit of writing so I’ve decided to jump onto the blogging bandwagon. So here I am!

My obsession has lead me to train (at the Academy of Freelance Makeup) and do a bit of makeup on the side (weddings, special occasions) and beauty blogging has become a full-time hobby. Well kinda. In April 2014, I was nominated as Blogger of The Week on the Lookfantastic website and wrote a piece on some of the products I hail as my skincare saviours (read it here). I also did an interview with Cision in July 2014 (read it here) where I discussed my blog and aspirations as well as working with marketers/brands.

For those who are bothered, here’s a little bit more about me.

When did you start blogging and why?

I started this blog because 1. I love makeup and beauty 2. I wanted to do something creative again. Being a former fashion student and having worked a in fast moving fashion environment for 5 years, I missed the buzz and wanted a creative outlet that I could channel my thoughts into in my spare time. 3. I used to also love writing and remember very clearly my English teacher’s look of disappointment when I told him I wasn’t continuing with ‘traditional’ A-Levels academic studies after school. I’d chose to pursue fashion. Fifteen years on, I no longer work in fashion and I still enjoy writing.

Funny how things turn out.

What can people expect from my blog?

Aside from me playing human guinea pig testing out new products, I give you my honest and frank thoughts on the products in question. I occasionally get sent products but in no way am I paid to convey false reviews. I also have a Youtube channel where I like to not only share reviews but I show you how to create easy to recreate looks inspired by themes and trends as well as new products. I feature these on the blog also as I often take accompanying photographs as well as list and link all products featured in my video.

I’m PR friendly and available for freelance blogging and editorials for websites as well as makeup for special occasions such as weddings, proms etc. Please contact me in the form below or alternatively via Facebook or Twitter.

Anything else?

Travelling is another great passion of mine so I also occasionally write about my travels on here. I always look to the internet for ideas for places to go, things to do and restaurants to eat at and I want to be able to give my thoughts especially when it comes to less well known areas of the world or hidden gems when it comes to dining out.

What do you do when you are not blogging?

I work in digital marketing across two different, totally unrelated fields. One is an eccomerce flowers business, the other is an online pension platform. It really couldn’t be more worlds apart.

Need a blogger/writer?

As I mentioned, I really do enjoy writing and am working on spreading the word about my blog at the same time. If you’re looking for a beauty blogger/writer to do something similar to this, then please contact me below.

I may write for a beauty blog but my role as a digital marketer requires me to write content on flowers and pensions, not only for the respective websites but also for external sites and publications (available on request). So if you’re looking for a freelance writer whatever the topic area then don’t hesitate to get in touch.
