A couple of weeks ago an email landed in my inbox from Colourpop notifying me of it’s limited time offer of free international delivery. The cost of delivery from the USA to Australia is normally the equivalent to the cost of 3-4 products so before I could read the email in it’s entirety, I had already clicked through to their site. A haul was about to go down big time!
I picked up two of the Ultra Satin Lips, one of my absolute favourite lipstick formulas, from the new fall collection. Barracuda, which is described as a warm deepened rose (see me wear it in my fall inspired makeup tutorial), and Calypso, which is described mid tone pinky nude. Barracuda is actually darker and not as warm as I thought, especially compared to the image onsite, but it’s still a beautiful fall appropriate shade. Of the two, Calypso is my favourite as it’s a lighter, neutral, mid tone shade that can easily be worn everyday. It’s most certainly not a nude though. If you find traditional liquid lipstick formulations too drying then I would highly recommend trying this formula out. Whilst they are not transfer proof, they are still very long wearing minus any flakiness or the dreaded white, inner-rim syndrome.
I also picked up two Brow Pencils: one in the shade Dope Taupe and one in the shade Bangin’ Brunette. I’ve been using the shade Dope Taupe and as it’s a taupe shade, it’s a lot lighter than my own brows but still manages to work somehow. I hate it when my brows are filled in too dark as I feel like you can spot them a mile away. I much prefer softer looking brows and rather have my eyes be the focus. I thought I would try the shade Bangin’ Brunette to see if it was similar to Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Brow Wiz in Medium Brown which is the shade I use. It is actually darker and because the formula is very pigmented, I have to use a very light hand (I cannot stress that enough) otherwise I can easily risk going overboard with it and end up with two slugs perched above my eyes.
I picked up two more of the Super Shock Eyeshadows: Weenie, which is described as a pinky rose gold with a pearlised finished and created in collaboration with Kathleen Lights, and Muse, which is described as a vibrant coppery rose with a pearlised finished, and also part of the fall collection. Can you see a trend here? These Super Shock Eyeshadows are so unique in texture and you are truly spoilt for choice in terms of colour selection and variety of finishes. I don’t use these as often as I should but when I do, I always fall back in love with them.
Finally, I picked up a Lippie Stix in the shade Ellarie as I felt like I was lacking in darker shades in the lip department and with it being fall (in the Northern hemisphere anyway), deep, vampy shades are a must.
