Easy Beach/Holiday Makeup Tutorial

I’m still travelling at the moment and currently writing this up from my hotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The weather has been glorious here, bright and sunny. Maybe a tad too hot at times but hey, I’m not complaining. Being in a hot environment, I’ve definitely been wearing a lot less makeup so I was inspired to film a makeup look for days at the beach or when you’re away on holiday. Some prefer not to wear any makeup whilst others can’t bear the thought of going bare-faced. This look is pretty easy and isn’t too much so it’s perfect if you just can’t go without the slap. I hope you like the video.

Below is a transcript of the video:

If you wan’t to know how I created this easy, peezy makeup look which would be great for those that don’t like to go bare faced whilst on the beach or on holiday then keep on watching…

First up I’m using the Laura Mercier Oil free Tinted Moisturiser which has an SPF of 20 and I’m just using my fingers to blend it all over my face. I’ll be mainly using my fingers as my tools in this video with the execption of two.
Then for my brows, I’m using an angled brush, (any angled brush will do) and a dark brown eye shadow. The one I’m using is the shade Sexpresso from the Two Face Natural Eyes  Palette.
Then to set my brows I’m using my good old trusted Collection Colour Lash Mascara in Clear.
Then to add a little something to the eyes, I’m using Mac Paint Pot in Groundwork. This will even out the skin tone on the eyelids but also add a little definition.
To curl my lashes I’m using as per usual my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers.
Then too define the eyes some more, im using the Maybeline Master Drama Cream Eyeliner in Dark Brown and running it from the mid point of the eye outwards whilst creating a very soft and subtle flick. To also add a hint of definition to the bottom lashes, I’m going to run it from the outer corner into about the mid point of the eye and softly blend it out with my finger to void it looking too harsh.
Then I’m applying lashings of the Loreal Paris False Lash Architect 4D Waterproof Mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
Then for the gross part, I line my upper waterline with the Barry M Bold Black Waterproof Eyeliner. This step adds extra definition to the lashes making you look like you have more lashes than you actually do.
Here’s a new tricked I’ve learned. Using a lash comb like this one I got from Tweezerman, I brush out the lashes after applying mascara to get rid of any clumps and separate any overlapping lashes. The results are softer and more fluttery looking lashes.
To hide dark circles under my eyes and brighten the area up a little, I’m using the Clinique Airbrush Concealer in the shade 03. Then I use my ring finger to blend the product in using gentle patting motions.
Then to conceal any redness or blemishes that are still visible, I use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Ginger and again I blend the product in using my finger.
Then to add a touch of colour to the cheeks Im using the Clinique Chubby Stick in the shade Robust Rhubarb. I apply it straight onto the apples of my cheeks and blend the product upwards and outwards with my fingers. This just adds a healthy glow to the face.
For just a subtle hint of colour on the lips, Im using the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in the shade 05.
Then finally to set my makeup and to help control any shine, I’m using Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in the shade Medium Dark with the Zoeva 105 Luxe Highlight Brush. As you can see I am just concentrating the powder down and along my t-zone and under the eyes. This should make the makeup last longer.
And there you have it. An easy, peezy, simple makeup look which would be perfect for the beach or when you are on holiday or even if you feel like wearing a little less makeup.
